Location
The office is situated 14 miles (22 kms) north on Highway 97 from Cache Creek, B.C., then 11 miles (17 kms) east on Loon Lake Road.  Directional signs are located on the highway at the Loon Lake turnoff.

Transportation is provided over an 11 mile private road.  Gear (which should be kept to a minimum) is transported with you in vans.

Two daily trips are made.  Be at the office at 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Facilities
The camp consists of nine rustic cabins along the lake shore.  Each cabin will accommodate four persons comfortably, having two double beds.  They are equipped with dishes and cooking utensils, wood range, kerosene lamp, ice box, propane cooking, hot and cold spring water and an outhouse.  Flush toilets and hot showers are centrally located.

There are five modern 2 and 3 bedroom kitchen cottages with propane fridge and stove, full plumbing and wood stove.  Each unit accommodates 4 to 8 persons.

Good safe boats and outboard motors are available.   Smoke-house, ice, gas and oil. There is a resident caretaker at camp.

Fishing and Tackle
Fishing at HiHium Lake is consistently good throughout the season - June 1st to October 7th.  HiHium Lake boasts its famous Kamloops Trout which can weigh up to 9 pounds.  These fighting fish can be taken by fly fishing, spin casting, or trolling. Bait Ban Rule:  single barbless hooks and artificial flies/lures only!

The most popular fly patterns are available at camp.

What to Bring
Sleeping bags or bed roll, food, fishing tackle, towels, toiletries.  In June and September, bring warm clothing as it can be cool at 5000 feet elevation.  Use duffel bags in preference to good luggage.  A gasoline lantern and cooler are handy as there is no electricity. Kindly leave your pets at home.
