Kamloops TroutPeople who don't fish seem incapable of understanding why we do it.  How does one begin to describe the feeling you get when a fat fish hits your line, transporting you from a state of total relaxation to an electric high in the blink of an eye?

The Kamloops trout is a subspecies of rainbow trout; the differences are minor, but important.  They are actually considered land-locked Steelhead trout, and they definitely possess the power and speed of a Steelhead.  They also do much of their fighting on the surface, making them quite a challenge to catch with the single barbless hooks that are allowed at HiHium Lake.  They are a worthy adversary... and a delicious one, at that!

The Photo Galleries contain some nice photos of trout we've caught over the years.
